Search Bar Pro offers two widget styles for the search trigger on your storefront: the search bar (pill style) and the icon button. Each one has its own advantages depending on your store design.
Search Bar (Pill Style)
The search bar appears as a floating pill shaped element with placeholder text (e.g., "Search our store..."). It is more visible and immediately signals to customers that search is available.
Best for:
- Stores where search is a primary way customers find products
- Stores with large catalogs where browsing alone is not enough
- Store owners who want a prominent, always visible search entry point
Icon Button
The icon button is a compact circular button with just an icon. It takes up less screen space and provides a cleaner, more minimal appearance.
Best for:
- Stores with simple, curated catalogs where search is a secondary navigation tool
- Store designs where a floating pill might feel too bulky
- Store owners who prefer a minimal aesthetic
Available Trigger Icons
When using either widget style, you can choose from six trigger icons:

The icon you choose appears on the trigger button. For the pill style, the icon sits alongside the placeholder text. For the icon button style, it is centered in the circle.
How to Switch Styles
- Go to the Customization page
- Under Widget style, select either "Search bar" or "Icon button"
- If desired, pick a trigger icon from the available options
- Preview the change in the live preview panel
- Click Save to apply
You can switch between styles anytime without losing your other customization settings (colors, text labels, position).
