If the search widget is not showing up on your storefront, there are a few things to check. Most of the time, the issue is related to the app embed not being enabled in your Shopify Theme Editor.
Check That the App Embed Is Enabled
The most common reason the widget does not appear is that the app embed has not been turned on:
- Go to your Shopify admin
- Navigate to Online Store > Themes
- Click Customize on your active theme
- In the Theme Editor, click App embeds (in the left sidebar)
- Find Search Bar Pro (listed as "AI Search") and make sure it is toggled on
- Click Save
If the toggle was off, turning it on and saving should make the widget appear on your storefront right away.

Verify It Is on the Right Theme
Make sure you are enabling the app embed on the theme that is currently published (live). If you have multiple themes, the embed needs to be active on the one your customers see.
You can check which theme is published by going to Online Store > Themes in your Shopify admin. The published theme has a "Current theme" label.
Clear Your Browser Cache
After enabling the app embed, if you still do not see the widget:
- Open your storefront in a new browser tab
- Hard refresh the page (Cmd+Shift+R on Mac, Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows)
- If it still does not appear, try opening your store in an incognito or private browser window
Cached pages can sometimes show an older version of your theme without the widget.
Check for Password Protection
If your store has password protection enabled, the widget will not be visible to visitors until the password is removed. You can check your store's password status in Shopify admin > Online Store > Preferences.
Still Not Working?
If you have confirmed the app embed is enabled, you are on the correct theme, and you have cleared your cache, visit the Support page in the app to submit a ticket and our team will help you troubleshoot further.
