Getting Search Bar Pro running on your store takes just three steps. The entire process usually takes less than five minutes.
Customize Your Search Bar Appearance
Start by visiting the Customization page in the app. Here you can personalize how the search widget looks on your storefront. You can change the button colors, choose a position on the screen, pick a widget style (search bar or icon button), and set your preferred text labels.
You do not have to customize everything right away. The defaults work well out of the box, and you can always come back to adjust things later. For a full walkthrough of every option, see Customizing Your Search Widget Appearance.
Sync Your Store Content
Next, go to the Settings page and run a content sync. This indexes your products, collections, pages, blog posts, policies, and navigation so the AI search can find them when customers search.
Syncing usually takes under a minute. Once it finishes, you will see a count of all the items that were indexed. You can re sync anytime to pick up new products or pages, and you can also enable automatic daily syncing so your content stays up to date without any manual work.
For more details on what gets indexed and how syncing works, see Syncing Your Store Content.
Enable the App Embed in Shopify Theme Editor
The final step is to turn on the app embed in your Shopify Theme Editor. This is what makes the search widget appear on your live storefront.
- Open the Shopify Theme Editor for your active theme
- Click on App embeds in the left sidebar
- Find Search Bar Pro (listed as "AI Search") and toggle it on
- Click Save
Once enabled, customers will see the floating search widget on every page of your store. They can click it or press Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows) to start searching.
[!info] The app embed persists across theme updates. You will not need to re enable it when Shopify updates your theme.
For more details on how app embeds work, see Shopify's app embed documentation.
